There are 2 types of backhand of course, the single or double. Slice or drive. Here are my picks of today’s players…
Andy Murray – Murray can hit with pace and spin in almost any part of the court and on the run.
David Ferrer – Ferrer is perhaps the best defensive player in the game and his backhand is like a metronome.
David Nalbandian – Known for his incredible angles and disguise, Nalbandian can just dominate off that side.
Novak Djokovic – Nole has great disguise and power off this wing and mixes it up great with slice and drop shots.
Richard Gasquet – Similar to Federer’s, Gasquet generates amazing power of the one hander.
Tommy Haas – Text book single handed backhand here. Slice or top spin. A joy to watch.
Roger Federer – Combining power and top spin, The Rog can hit a backhand winner off any delivery.
Ivan Ljubicic – Another beauty of a single handed backhand. Ivan’s down the line is probably one of the best.
Nikolay Davydenko – Lightening fast reflexes and footwork enable Nikolay to punch above his weight and leave most players flat-footed.
Phillip Kohlschreiber – Big wind up and one of the best looking shots in the game. When this shot is hot, not many players can live with it.
